Statuses
Four steps, and the last one belongs to the reporter.
| Status | Means | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Reported, nobody has picked it up | New Jots start here |
| In progress | Someone is on it | Your team, or an AI agent |
| Resolved | A fix has shipped — "we think it's done" | Your team, or an AI agent |
| Approved | The reporter checked and agrees | The reporter |
Only the reporter approves
Resolved is your word. Approved is theirs. When you resolve a Jot, the reporter gets an email asking them to check, and approves it from the widget. That is how you know a fix fixed the thing the person actually saw.
AI agents can move a Jot to In progress or Resolved, never to Approved.
Moving between them
- Open → In progress, or straight to Resolved.
- In progress → back to Open, or on to Resolved.
- Resolved → Approved by the reporter, or reopened to Open or In progress if it isn't fixed after all.
- Approved is final.
On the reporter's page, resolved and approved pins shrink to small dots — still clickable, no longer in the way.
