# Annotating the screenshot

> An arrow, a box, or a blur — when a sentence needs a finger.

Every Jot carries a screenshot. When the problem is "this, next to that", draw
on it.

1. In the composer, press **Annotate** on the screenshot thumbnail.
2. Pick a tool:
   * **Arrow** — point at something.
   * **Box** — outline an area.
   * **Blur** — hide anything you'd rather not share.
3. Press **Done**. The count on the button tells you how many marks you made.

**Undo** takes back the last mark; **Clear** removes them all; **Cancel** leaves
the screenshot as it was.

Areas Jot has already hidden for you — form fields and private elements — are
marked **auto-masked**. You can't unmask them; that is on purpose.
